THE THOUSAND YEARS, THE NEW HEAVEN AND NEW EARTH
Yahweh’s House of God Oakland California

The reign of Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords is spoken of throughout the Bible. (Isa. 24:21-23; Jer. 23:3 ñ 5; 1 Tim. 6:15; Rev. 12:5, 17:14, 19:16) The scripture also teaches that Christís reign shall be a time of peace. (Isa.11:1-10; Mic. 4:1-7) This era of swords to plowshares and spears to pruning hooks shall see the law being taught from Zion. (Isa. 2:2-5) There shall be a highway to Zion where only the righteous shall walk. (Isa. 35:4-10; Heb. 12:22 & 23) In the day of Christís reign from the holy mountain there shall be a sounding of the great trumpet. (Isa. 23:13; Joel 2:1-3; Mat. 24:31; Rev. 1:10) Those who have suffered with Christ shall also reign with him. (2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 5:9-10; Rev. 20:6, 22:5)

The thousand year duration of his reign was revealed to John in the book of Revelation. (Rev. 20:6) Along with the reign of Christ, the era of peace, the holy city, and the reign of saints God also promised to create new heavens and a new earth. Isaiah and Peter spoke of new heavens and a new earth with great anticipation. (Isa. 65:17, 66:22; 2Pet. 2:13) Johnís witness to the reality of the new heaven and new earth is a vivid one, as he likens the New Jerusalem coming down from the new heaven to a bride adorned for her husband. (Rev. 21:1 & 2) The reign of Christ, the new heaven and new earth are simple truths of the Bible.

There has been a great deal written about the order of events whether they are pre-millennial, a-millennial, or post-millennial. For whatever reasons there is no shortage of those who feel it necessary to explain in great detail every nuance of Godís word. No wonder there is much confusion among the people of God when it comes to the simple truths of the Bible. I say with assurance it is not of God. (1Cor.14:33) I humbly submit that I donít have all answers to all questions about the thousand years the new heaven and the new earth, and neither does anyone else. (1 Cor.13:12) Have faith in God and know that he is faithful to keep all his promises. The doctrine of the thousand years, the new heaven and the new earth is one of the Bibleís simple truths. So let us not waver in our teaching as we wait in great anticipation of reigning a thousand years with Christ and life everlasting in new heavens and a new earth and teach others to do the same.
